April 28, 2008
The month of May promises to be as busy for Olivet School as April has been. We had a fun month with the Book Fair, Jump Rope for Heart, Field Trips, and our Annual Art Show.
On Friday, May 2nd we will celebrate School Spirit Day. We encourage everyone to wear green and white to show their school spirit!
Fourth Grade Career Day is set for May 2. Mrs. Gustafson has planned a fun, learning day for all, complete with many guests who will share their occupations with them.
Our monthly meeting of the PTO will be held on Monday, May 5 at 7:30 PM at Norma School. Come out and support your PTO.
Our Spring Chorus Concert will be held on Tuesday, May 6th. All chorus members are ready to perform for the last time this year.
The week of May5th – 9th is National Teacher Appreciation Week. This is a great time to tell the teachers THANK YOU for the effort that they give to your child each and every day.
First and Second grade will be attending a “Zoo on Wheels” assembly on May 12. This is a fun hands on animal treat for the students. Thank you to our PTO for the special program.
The students will be traveling to Shoprite for the culminating shopping event during May 13-15.
Throughout the month, all students in grades 2, 3 and 4 will take the MAP test. This is the same computerized testing given in September and October. The purpose of the test is to measure the academic progress made during the school year.
Don’t forget to support our PTO Market Day Fundraiser. Place your orders for pickup on May 24th.
School will be closed on Monday, May 26th in observance of Memorial Day.
On behalf of the staff, students and administration, I would like to extend my thanks for your support of the 2008-2009-school budget. THANK YOU!
